Aurabase Cloud is een Europees Backend-as-a-Service-platform gebouwd met Rust op PostgreSQL 17. Het combineert een speciale database, door Vault ondersteunde authenticatie, S3-opslag, Edge Functions en een native MCP-server in een soevereine infrastructuur zonder enige afhankelijkheid van Amerikaanse hyperscalers.

De initiële realisatie: eind 2025 stond de Europese software-industrie voor een kunstmatig dilemma. Aan de ene kant de snelheid en ervaring van ontwikkelaars van moderne BaaS-platforms (Supabase, Firebase), allemaal gebonden aan de Amerikaanse jurisdictie en onderworpen aan extraterritoriale CLOUD Act-garanties. Aan de andere kant waren soevereine alternatieven vaak gefragmenteerd, langzamer en lastig in te zetten.
De laagdrempelige aanpak: we besloten om te beginnen vanaf een blanco vel in Rust. Geen Go, geen Node.js, geen JVM. Rust levert netwerklatenties van minder dan een milliseconde, elimineert alle garbage collector-pauzes en garandeert geheugenveiligheid tijdens het compileren. Op deze basis ontvangt elk project een speciaal PostgreSQL 17-cluster, georkestreerd door CloudNativePG.
Een concrete realiteit in 2026: Aurabase SAS is vandaag de dag een winstgevend bedrijf, opgericht in Toulouse, dat 14 productie-microservices exploiteert in drie Europese datacentra. Uw gegevens verlaten nooit het continent en u behoudt de volledige controle via standaard open protocollen zonder eigen forks.
